The entire complex was built in an extraordinary nature reserve about 20km south of Brussels. It includes the main building – the sanitarium – and numerous service buildings spread out on the entire site.
When you enter the reserve by the gate near the warder’s house you will see a wide avenue in front of you. This avenue with halfway through the doctor’s house will lead you to the sanitarium. At the darker north side of the main building a hollow road will lead you down the hill and passes by the morgue. At the bottom of the hill a few other buildings can be found: the heating installation, the pumping station, the laundry building and the personnel’s housing complex.
